This Is What Needs To Be Done Like It Or Not

Showdown in Congress over US government transparency By Associated Press

WASHINGTON — Republicans in Congress are set to air results from one of their first formal investigations of the Obama administration, an inquiry into secretive reviews by political advisers at the Homeland Security Department of hundreds of requests for government files under the Freedom of Information Act.
Republicans on the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee were expected to grill the top lawyer and chief privacy officer for the Homeland Security Department on Thursday over the now-rescinded policy. It prohibited release of government files to reporters or watchdog groups without approval by political advisers.
The agency’s inspector general concluded in its own inquiry that the advisers "had little to contribute" and caused unnecessary delays that violated deadlines under the law. But it found no evidence they prohibited federal records from being disclosed.

Commentary

This needs to be done not only from establishment Republicans but the Tea Party Conservatives to nail the Obama Administration who said in 2008 that there would be "Hope and Change" this also meant the politically correct word "transparency" which should say accountability instead.
